Nevada · Hail Damage Claims

Hail can leave a pattern, not just a dent.

A hail inspection should connect impact evidence across materials and elevations instead of relying on one isolated mark. M&T helps policyholders organize event information, photographs, and qualified findings.

Understand the loss

The facts and the damage path matter.

Document the impact pattern across roofing, metals, glazing, equipment, and the surrounding property.

The source, timing, affected areas, and emergency-protection records help explain the facts without making coverage assumptions.

What may be affected

  • Building materials and finishes
  • Adjoining areas and concealed components
  • Contents, systems, and personal property
  • Temporary protective work
02

What to document

  • Wide and close photographs before cleanup or removal
  • Dates, conditions, and the damage path
  • Receipts, estimates, measurements, and communications
  • Removed materials and temporary protection

General information for policyholders. The policy, facts, and applicable evaluation control coverage and outcome.

Preserve the event pattern

Do not climb onto the roof during or after a storm. Use safe ground views and qualified professionals for elevated access and technical conclusions.

  • Record the date, approximate time, location, and how the hail was observed.
  • Photograph each elevation and affected exterior material with context and close views.
  • Keep photographs of hailstones only if safely obtained, with a scale and time reference.
  • Collect prior inspections, repair records, and photographs showing earlier condition.
  • Preserve contractor or consultant photographs, diagrams, measurements, and reports.
  • Save carrier inspection materials and any written explanation of the claim decision.

How M&T helps with a hail claim

We organize the storm date, cross-property impact evidence, roof and exterior observations, and available professional records into one claim presentation.

  1. Confirm the reported event
Build a factual timeline using the policyholder’s observations and reliable records.
  2. Map the pattern
Organize impact evidence by roof slope, building elevation, material, and outdoor component.
  3. Separate conditions
Distinguish claimed impact evidence from prior repairs, wear, and unrelated marks.
  4. Present the record
Submit supported materials and follow the claim communication through our licensed role.

Hail-claim questions

Can hail damage exist without an interior leak?

It can, but any claimed damage must be documented and evaluated. A leak is not the only possible evidence, and a surface mark alone does not establish coverage.

Should I save hailstones?

Only if it is safe. Time-stamped photographs with a ruler or other clear scale can be more practical.

What if the storm was very localized?

Document conditions at your property. Weather context may help, but the property-specific physical evidence remains important.

Does every dent require replacement?

No. Repair or replacement questions depend on the component, function, policy, and qualified evaluation.
